AINALYSIS PROPOSES "AINDICATE" POINT-OF-USE SYSTEM
AIndicate is calling for a universal system for indicating when a user is interacting with AI eg viewing AI generated content or using a service which uses AI.
There are already some ways that organisations indicate to users when they are using an AI, but it isn't standardised or being used by everyone. Users are finding it hard to distinguish AI generated "fake" content and this can be detrimental.
A simple 3 level system could tell users what kind of AI they are interacting with:
- AI-assisted: is being used to automate some straightforward tasks
- AI-augmented: core functionality or content relies on AI eg content that is being viewed is generated by AI
- AI-decisioning: AI makes or influences decisions that affect the user, eg whether they are accepted for a loan application
